My Alkaline Diet – Week 1
Hmmm. Well, I started on Monday 31st 2010.
First up was the lemon water or herbal tea choice. I think the green tea I have was the wrong one, and I guess to break out of my comfort zone, I opted for the Lemon water.
That was hard to stomach, but by the end of the first week, I was actually used to it. Its actually not that bad and its quite refereshing in the morning. I also have been leaving it in the fridge overnight, so its cold in the morning.
Breakfasts
Breakfast was a ‘transition muesli’, supposedly to help you ween off the sugar slowly. So there is banana’s and dried cranberries. It looks great in the pic. I think there might have too much though. I struggled to finish mine. I’m not sure if that was because that followed on from the lemon water . I also, I think I toasted my oats a bit too long (oooh er). I think tomorrow, i’ll do half of what I prepared today. it was actually reall nice (as I expected). My portions in the morning shrunk, just so I could finish breakfast in time to get to work.
Smoothie
- I only had 1 smoothie on the menu this week.
- I’ll be honest. I didnt like it at all. It was a crazy concoction of EUGH. I think I had about a 3rd. From what I can recall, it was
- 1 tomato
- half a cucumber
- A WHOLE lime
- 1 avocado
- spinich
Lunches
Lunch…..hmmm. I’m not sure how I am going to tackle this. It was;
- crushed garlic
- carrots sliced thin in circles
- thinly sliced red cabbage
- baby spinich leaves.
- lemon juice
- extra olive oil
And thats it. Don’t get me wrong. Its looks nice. But I would never eat anything like this.
But the best one so far was the wraps. I could not find a pic and my camera was being annoying at the time.
- totilla wraps
- chopped tomato x1
- Third of Cucumber chopped. baby spinich leaves.
- lemon juice
- extra olive oil
- lettuce leaves
- spinich leaves
Dinner
The dinners were something of my choosing from what is soon to be my old diet. Savour everyone. I had some nice ones, the best being Tikka Salmon with Cucumber Yogurt. Hmmm goodness.
I have Jamie Oliver to thank for that one.
